Oh hold onto your hats! This one blows me away!
Designed by Roxanne, the phenomenal color genius behind Zen Yarn Garden, this is a beautiful shawl that goes perfectly with her yarns. And (perhaps?) is just begging for a few beaded additions.
Roxanne knit her original using her colorway Silver Moon -- unfortunately we are sold out of that particular colorway. This kit is being offered in another lovely color: see the inset photo on the top right of the first picture here as well the last photo below it.
The original again was knit in the yarn called Serenity Lace II. We are offering here a lovely kit using Serenity Silk + which just happens to be exactly the same as Serenity Silk + but the Lace II has 10% nylon and the Serenity Silk+ has 10% silk. And Roxanne wrote to me: "I think the Serenity Silk + will have better drape too :)".
You know what? I think these are absolutely perfect together.

A few words about the yarn:
Serenity Silk + is put up in a 100 gram skein which has a generous 500 yards -- it is a light fingering weight (or perhaps you prefer thinking of it as a heavy lace weight). The 75/15/10 mix of superwash merino/cashmere/silk feels simply amazing.
The colorway here is called Tiger Eye. It is a new one from Zen Yarn Garden, part of Roxanne's Crystal Colors collection. As she describes the concept: "With just a whisper of colour, these colourways have just a hint of colourplay with a background of white. Gorgeous for all your knitting that calls for just a hint of colour." I'd say it has a bit more color than just a hint, but it is a lovely melding of whites and tints and hues and will look great.
This one is a soft beautiful melding of blues, a scattering a light and dark and rich indigo, to create a most intriguing overall look. It is a beautiful tone-on-tone that has a suggestion of the way colors mix in semi-precious stone -- I'd call this one closer to Lapis or Goldstone than Tiger's Eye, but perhaps Tiger's Eye can be blues as well as the more familiar golden browns.

The shawl design is a shaped top-down half-circle. I quote Roxanne again:
"A quick knit with a stunning result that’s sure to be a treat to wrap around your neck or your shoulders to add a bit of sophistication and style to your wardrobe."
The pattern contains both written directions as well as charted ones. And there are also instructions included on how to make it larger, if you wish -- the pattern as written will use about 380 yards (348 meters) and give you a finished size of about 44" x 16" (112 cm x 40 cm).
When I saw the pattern, I thought that beads could look marvelous with this as part of the bottom edge bind-off -- the 4mm megatmas or the 4x7mm long megatamas are the ones that strike me, in silver lined crystal perhaps. There are other places a glint of bling could look amazing. Beads are not part of the kit but could be a wonderful addition. Raphaelite is a wonderful palette for self-expression.
I love this!
So to sum up: each kit will have one copy of the pattern and one skein of Serenity Silk +.
Yum!
Big smiles here.
